Great question, I have wondered the same thing.
Stress is my number one trigger too, nothing else comes close.
Founder here. What worked for me was consistency over intensity: same simple protection every single morning, not only when the sun is out. Wind, cold, and short sleep stack up quietly, so getting ahead of them beats chasing an outbreak once it starts. Rooting for you.
Honestly yes, the days I spend hiding my face or cancelling plans have hurt way more than any tingle ever did, and I've only recently let myself admit that. You're not overreacting, and just saying it out loud here helps more than I expected.
Welcome, and do not feel low, it is so common and manageable.
