Do cold sores get less frequent with age?

Mine seem to have slowed down compared to my twenties, but I am not sure if that is age or just better habits. What has your experience been?

Really glad you posted this. Prevention over treatment is the shift that helped me most, and it sounds like you are already there.

For me they honestly did, I got them constantly in my twenties and now in my forties it's maybe once a year, usually only after a bad sunburn or a stressful week. Wish I could say why, but I'll take it.

Mine definitely spaced out as I got older, I used to get them a few times a year in my twenties and now it's maybe once, usually only after a really stressful stretch or a sunburn. Everyone's different though, so hang in there.

For me, yes, honestly. I used to get three or four a year in my twenties and now in my forties it's maybe one, usually only after a brutal sunny ski week or a stretch of bad sleep, so I think it's partly age and partly that I finally learned my triggers.

For me they did, honestly. I used to get three or four a year in my twenties and now I maybe get one, usually after a rough stretch of sun or no sleep, so I think my body just learned to keep it in check a bit better.

For me they honestly did, I used to get three or four a year in my twenties and now it's maybe one every couple of years, usually only after a sunburn or a really rough stretch of sleep. Not sure if it's age or just finally learning my triggers, but either way I'll take it.

For me they definitely did, I used to get one almost every winter in my twenties and now in my forties it's maybe one every couple of years, though honestly I think part of it is just that I got way better at spotting the tingle early and being kinder to myself when I'm run down.
