Anyone else refuse to wear lipstick or gloss because it feels like it wakes one up?

I have noticed that whenever I use a new lip product, especially anything glossy or heavily scented, I get that tingle a day or two later and it turns into a full outbreak. Now I basically stick to one plain balm and never share or try samples, which feels a bit silly when friends are swapping products at the table. Is this an actual trigger for anyone else, or am I just being paranoid and blaming the wrong thing?

Yes, totally me. I skipped gloss for years after a couple of flare ups seemed to follow it, and honestly I only started trusting anything on my lips again once I got very careful about what I put on them.

Yes, same here, anything sticky or sweet smelling on my lips makes me nervous so I basically live in plain balm and tell myself it looks intentional.

Alex from Labisan here. You are not alone with this, it is far more common than people admit. The most reproducible lever for most of us is UV, so a daily mineral SPF lip balm plus steady sleep is where I would start. Log what you notice and the pattern usually shows itself.
