Does anyone else feel weird kissing their partner even weeks after it heals?
My last one cleared up almost a month ago and I still catch myself turning my cheek when my boyfriend goes to kiss me. He knows I get them and says he's not worried, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm somehow still contagious or that I'll pass it to him. Is this something that fades with time, or did you have to actively work on it?
Yeah, I had that for a good month after mine cleared up, I kept pulling back without even thinking about it. What finally helped was just telling him out loud that I felt self conscious, and honestly he hadn't noticed a thing.
Great question, and you are not alone with this. Catching the trigger early is where most of the difference comes from.
Yes, honestly it took me a long time to stop flinching when my partner leaned in, even when my lip looked totally normal again. What helped was just saying it out loud to him, and it turned out he wasn't worried at all, I was the only one keeping score.
Honestly yes, I felt like that for ages after mine cleared up, like I was still hiding something even though nothing was there. My partner finally told me she missed me kissing her properly and that was what got me out of my own head about it.
Honestly yes, I still catch myself turning my cheek sometimes even when I know it's long gone, and my partner has to remind me it's fine. I think the fear just takes way longer to heal than the skin does.
