Anyone else avoid photos for a week every time one shows up?
My sister's wedding is in ten days and I can feel that familiar spot on my lip starting to act up, and honestly I am more stressed about the pictures than anything else. I always end up hiding behind someone or turning my head so the bad side is away from the camera, and then years later I have almost no photos of myself from those events. Does anyone have a way of getting past this, or do you just accept it and show up anyway?
Honestly yes, I once skipped my own cousin's birthday photos because of one on my lip and still feel a bit silly about it. Nice to know I'm not the only one hiding from cameras though, it really does mess with your head more than people realise.
Tracking mine was eye opening, the patterns really show up.
Honestly yes, I once skipped my own cousin's birthday photos and made up an excuse about being sick, and I still feel a little silly about it. It helped me so much to realize other people are way too worried about how they look themselves to notice my lip.
Really glad you posted this. Prevention over treatment is the shift that helped me most, and it sounds like you are already there.
Honestly yes, I once skipped my own cousin's birthday photos and just offered to be the one taking them all night. It helps me so much knowing I'm not the only one who does this.
