Anyone else get a cold sore after a dentist appointment?

I had a long filling done last week and my lip was stretched the whole time, and sure enough two days later I felt that tingle in the exact corner they were working near. It has happened twice now so I do not think it is a coincidence. Do any of you warn your dentist ahead of time, or take anything before an appointment? I feel a bit silly bringing it up but I would rather be prepared next time.

Founder here. What worked for me was consistency over intensity: same simple protection every single morning, not only when the sun is out. Wind, cold, and short sleep stack up quietly, so getting ahead of them beats chasing an outbreak once it starts. Rooting for you.

Yes, every single time, I think it's the stretching and the bright light in my face for an hour that does it for me. Now I just warn my dentist beforehand and try to book cleanings when I'm not already run down, which helps a little.

Yes, every single time. I think it's the stretching from having my mouth open that long plus the stress of the appointment, so now I try to book mornings and go easy on myself for a couple days after.

This is so me. You are definitely not alone with it.

The morning SPF habit was the single thing that cut mine down.

Yes, every single time, I think it's the combination of my mouth being stretched open for an hour plus the stress of just being there. Now I warn my dentist ahead of time and try to book cleanings when I'm not already run down, which has helped a little.

Yes, every single time, I think it's the mouth being stretched open for so long plus all the stress of just being there. I've started asking them to go easy on the corners of my lips and it helps a little, but honestly I just plan for one now.

Yes, every single time, I think it's the mouth being stretched open for so long plus the stress of being in that chair. Now I try to book mornings and go easy on myself for a couple days after, which seems to help a little.

Yes, every single time, I think it's the stretching and the bright light and the stress all at once. Now I put balm on before I even leave the house for the appointment and it seems to help a bit.
