Anyone else panic at every tiny lip tingle, even when nothing comes of it?

I have gotten so jumpy that any little itch on my lip sends me straight to the mirror three times an hour. Half the time it turns out to be nothing, just dry skin or my imagination, but my brain goes into full alert mode anyway. It is exhausting living on standby like this. Does the false alarm anxiety ever calm down for you, or did you find a way to just wait and see without spiraling?

Oh yes, every single time, I've probably lost more sleep to false alarms than to actual outbreaks at this point. It got a little easier once I started treating the tingle as a reminder to slow down and rest rather than a countdown to disaster, but honestly the panic never fully goes away for me either.

Oh completely, I still catch myself poking at my lip in the mirror every time it so much as itches, and honestly nine times out of ten it turns out to be nothing. Took me years to realise the panic itself was wearing me out more than the actual outbreaks ever did.

Great question, and you are not alone with this. Catching the trigger early is where most of the difference comes from.
