Does anyone else get one the week they finally take a vacation?

I went months without a single cold sore while working nonstop, and then the first morning of my holiday I woke up with that tingle on my bottom lip. It happened last summer too, almost like my body waits until I relax to let one through. I am curious if other people notice this pattern, or if I am just unlucky with timing. Any tips for getting ahead of it when you know a break is coming?

Ha, every single time. My body waits until I've finally stopped stressing and then it's like "oh good, you relaxed, here's your souvenir."

Welcome. The two things worth knowing early: it is very common, and it is far more preventable than most people realise.

Ugh yes, every single time, it's like my body waits until I finally relax to fall apart. I've started prepping the week before a trip now because I just know the stress letdown is coming.

Every single time, I swear my body waits until I finally relax to let one show up, like it was holding on all year just for that. You are definitely not alone, and it helped me a lot to just accept it, pack what I need, and enjoy the trip anyway.

Every single time, I swear my body waits until I finally relax and then decides that's the perfect moment to throw a tingle at me. I've started packing my usual stuff before I even book the flights now, just in case.

Yes, every single time, it is like my body waits until I finally stop being stressed and then decides that is the moment to let go. I got one on day two of my honeymoon and honestly still laugh about how bad the timing was.
