Why does one always show up right before something important?

Job interview next week, wedding last spring, my sister's graduation before that, and every single time my lip starts tingling a few days out. I know the stress itself is probably the trigger, but it feels like my body has a calendar and picks the worst possible dates on purpose. Does anyone have a way of getting ahead of it when you know a big stressful week is coming, or do you just accept it at this point?

This is exactly the kind of thing the community is for. Small consistent habits beat any single fix, in my experience.

Reapplying after eating is my weak spot, working on it.

I swear mine have a sixth sense for job interviews and weddings, it happened to me right before my sister's wedding and I was so stressed about it that I probably made it worse. You're definitely not alone in this, and honestly most people notice it way less than we think they do.

Ugh, I swear mine has a calendar. Job interviews, weddings, first dates, it never misses, and I think the stress of the big thing is exactly what wakes it up, so now I try to sleep more the week before and go easy on myself either way.

Honestly I think it is the stress itself, mine always seems to know when I have a wedding or a big presentation coming and shows up like clockwork, so now I try to sleep more and go easy on myself the week before and it helps a little.

Honestly I think it's the stress and the lost sleep in the days before, my body just seems to know when I need to look my best and picks that exact moment, so now I try to go easier on myself the week leading up to anything big.
