Do you actually replace your toothbrush and lip stuff after every outbreak?
I read somewhere you should toss your toothbrush and any lip products you used once a cold sore heals, and now I feel guilty every time I don't. Replacing everything after each one gets expensive and part of me wonders if it even matters since the virus is already in my body anyway. Curious what everyone else does, do you throw things out religiously or just not worry about it?
Thanks for posting. The thing I wish I had learned sooner is to respect the early tingle window and to protect proactively rather than wait. Keep the lips shielded on high UV and cold days, protect your sleep, and be kind to yourself. This is a support space and for a clinical read you can use the Clinic.
Honestly no, I always mean to and then forget until the next one shows up and I'm standing there staring at the same old toothbrush wondering if that's why. I've gotten better about tossing the lip stuff at least, mostly because it grosses me out to think about.
