Anyone else avoid lipstick and lip gloss now because of what it might trigger?

I used to wear lipstick every day and now I'm nervous to put anything on my lips that isn't plain balm, because the last two outbreaks both started a day after I wore a new gloss. Could be total coincidence, I know, but my brain has linked the two and I can't unlink it. I miss feeling put together for work, and going bare faced makes me feel like everyone can tell something's off even when nothing is there. Has anyone found a way to feel normal about makeup again, or did you just give up on it?

Yes, same here, I basically quit gloss a couple winters ago after one too many flare ups showed up right after a night out wearing it. Honestly I kind of miss it, so if anyone has found something that doesn't set them off I'd love to hear.

Thank you for sharing. For most people the biggest lever is daily sun protection on the lips, even on cloudy days.

Yes, me too, I basically retired my whole lipstick drawer after one too many flare ups that seemed to show up right after a night out wearing gloss. These days I stick to the plainest balm I can find and honestly I miss the color, but not the week of hiding behind my hand.

Honestly yes, I went almost a year without touching gloss because I got paranoid about anything sticky sitting on my lips all day, and I still only wear it when I know I'm not run down or stressed.

Honestly yes, I went almost two years without touching gloss because I was convinced the sticky stuff was setting me off, and it turned out the sun and wind were the real culprits for me all along. I still keep a plain balm on underneath anything tinted now, kind of my little safety net.
