How many outbreaks is normal, really?

People often feel alone with this, but recurrent cold sores are incredibly common, and the range is wide. Some get one or two a year, some get many more. There is no shame in any of it. Without any pressure, roughly where do you sit, and has that number moved over time?

Honestly it took me years to stop comparing myself to other people's numbers, some folks get one a year and I was getting four or five, and my doctor said both were within normal range. What matters more is noticing your own triggers, for me it was sun and bad sleep, so try tracking yours instead of chasing a magic number.
