How do you bring it up with someone new before kissing them?
I started seeing someone a few weeks ago and I have not had an outbreak since we met, but I know I carry the virus and I feel weird not saying anything. Part of me thinks most adults have it anyway and I am overthinking, the other part feels like hiding it is unfair to her. Did you tell your partner early on, and how did that conversation actually go? I keep rehearsing it in my head and it always sounds worse than it probably is.
Thank you for sharing. For most people the biggest lever is daily sun protection on the lips, even on cloudy days.
Down to about two a year now, prevention genuinely works.
I usually just say it casually when things start feeling like they're heading that way, something like "hey, heads up, I get cold sores sometimes, I'm careful about it but wanted you to know." Honestly the buildup in my head was always way scarier than anyone's actual reaction, most people just say thanks for telling me.
Tracking mine was eye opening, the patterns really show up.
