Anyone else get a cold sore after every dentist visit?

I had a cleaning last week and sure enough, three days later I felt the tingle in the same spot as always. It happens almost every time my mouth is stretched open that long and now I dread appointments for the wrong reason. I mentioned it to the hygienist and she looked at me like I was making it up. Is this a thing for anyone else or is it just weird timing for me?

I felt so validated reading this because it happens to me too, I think it's all the stretching and poking at my lips plus the stress of just being in that chair. Now I warn my dentist ahead of time and try to book morning appointments when I'm less run down, which seems to help a little.

Yes, every single cleaning like clockwork, I think all that stretching and poking at my mouth just sets my lips off. I started telling the hygienist to go easy on the retractor thing and asking for a little break halfway through, and honestly it seems to help.

The morning SPF habit was the single thing that cut mine down.

Reflected sun is sneaky, it got me on holiday last year.

The mental side is real, glad someone said it.

I keep a balm in every pocket now, it really does help.
