Welcome. The two things worth knowing early: it is very common, and it is far more preventable than most people realise.
Oh completely, I know which bathroom at my office has the dim lighting and I have absolutely picked it on purpose during a flare up. Hate that my brain does this on autopilot now, but weirdly nice to know it's not just me.
Yes, and I thought I was the only one. I know exactly which bathroom at my office has the harsh lighting that makes everything look ten times worse, and I avoid it like my life depends on it.
The mental side is real, glad someone said it.
Oh wow, I thought I was the only one, I could probably draw the layout of my office from memory just based on where I can catch my reflection. It made me feel so much less alone reading this, thank you for saying it out loud.
Winter is worse for me too, the cold cracks my lips first.
Oh absolutely, I could draw you a floor plan of the office with every reflective surface marked, including the microwave door and that one glass conference room I take the long way around whenever I feel a tingle coming on. It's a little exhausting, but it helps to know I'm not the only one doing it.
Oh my gosh yes, I know exactly which bathroom at my office has the dim lighting so I can check without seeing every detail lol. Honestly reading this made me feel so much less alone, thank you for posting it.
