In 1931, the Maria Schutz Pharmacy in the Austrian Alps created a lip balm tough enough for mountain guides and Alpine workers. By 1953, that same formula was carried to the summit of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Hermann Buhl trusted it on Nanga Parbat. The best lip balm for serious outdoor use
I climb in the Alps regularly and tested dozens of lip balms over the years. Labisan is the only one that lasts through an entire day at altitude. Great protection, wish the tube were bigger
Bought this before a hiking trip in the Scottish Highlands and it performed brilliantly in rain and wind. My lips stayed smooth and I had zero irritation. The natural ingredients like manuka oil and astaxanthin make me feel good about what I am putting on my skin. Only reason for four stars is I wish the tube held a bit more product for longer trips. Otherwise excellent.

Cold sore prevention that actually works
Every spring when the UV intensity increases I would get painful cold sore flare ups on my lower lip. My doctor suggested a lip balm with proper SPF and zinc oxide. Labisan ticks both boxes.
