Sleep is the big one for me, when I get at least seven hours consistently I notice way fewer flare ups. I also try to stay hydrated and keep chapped lips under control with a plain lip balm.
I always wear a lip balm with SPF when I am outside, since sun exposure seems to be my main trigger. Pairing that with regular exercise and less stress has made a noticeable difference for me.
For me it comes down to managing stress and eating well, lots of vegetables and fewer late night snacks. I also keep a small stash of lysine and Abreva handy so I can act fast at the first tingle, but talk to a doctor if you want a real plan for HSV.
Founder here. What worked for me was consistency over intensity: same simple protection every single morning, not only when the sun is out. Wind, cold, and short sleep stack up quietly, so getting ahead of them beats chasing an outbreak once it starts. Rooting for you.
