Compeed vs Abreva for cold sores, which is better?

BraveWillow82 · 19d ago · 5 upvotes
Deciding between a Compeed cold sore patch and Abreva. The patch covers and protects the sore, Abreva is an antiviral cream. Which worked better for you, and does either actually prevent them?

Neither prevents them for me, prevention is a separate routine.

The Compeed patch was good for covering it, Abreva for early treatment.

Patch helped me not pick at it, which sped up healing.

I felt the same when I started, it does get easier.

Thank you for sharing. For most people the biggest lever is daily sun protection on the lips, even on cloudy days.
