I keep a plain hydrating balm on me all day and reapply a lot, and I make sure to grab one with spf since sun and wind really dry me out.
Staying really hydrated helped me the most, and I stopped licking my lips since that makes the chapping way worse for me.
I take lysine daily as part of my wellness routine and keep my lips moisturized, and I keep abreva around just in case, though for anything that lingers I would check with a pharmacist.
Really glad you shared this. What has helped me most is treating it as a prevention question rather than a treatment one. Track your own triggers for a few weeks, get ahead of the risky days, and protect the lip barrier before the sun, wind, or a bad night of sleep can set things off.
Reflected sun is sneaky, it got me on holiday last year.
Protecting my lips before skiing changed everything for me.
